tux is a dog treat toy that is guaranteed durable. tux is the perfect combination of a supremely stuffable / tossable dog treat toy and guaranteed-tough zogoflex®. tux is a treat toy and was designed to withstand chewing, but still be fun – with or without a treat! we break her dental chew into pieces and shove it in there with peanut butter and it keeps her busy for a while. for reference, our dog is a 60lb pointer who is not super aggressive with treat dispensers but isn’t too gentle either. my pup sees this as a cup treat puzzle, so she just licks the cavity to get the treats out. the cavity is smaller than the cup treat puzzle and doesn’t have the fins and such, so the content isn’t as challenging to get out. takes a lot of space for little amount of treats it holds. still, would’ve been better off to just get another cup threat puzzle. not only can you put treats, peanut butter, etc inside of it to keep dogs active, but it has proven so far to be indestructible! this is great for frozen treats. here is what we do, frozen bone broth cubes (see pics if trey i use, it a plain silicone thing but this shape of cubes works well for this toy). and frozen pumpkin mix with the small treat at the bottom.
i bought this toy as a christmas present for my “nephew.” this one is still alive almost 2 months later without a mark on it! it’s his favorite toy by far. they don’t really use the treat dispensing feature, but it’s still great as an indestructible chew toy. shape is fun when thrown and bobbles unpredicably on landing. **i swear i was not paid or given any free gifts for this review… i just love this toy that much** i have 6 small and 6 large of these west paw toys. i stuff them with all kinds of ingredients and freeze them… canned or hydrated dog food mixed with banana, rice and peanut butter… cooked ground turkey with pineapple chunks and instant oatmeal… chopped chicken with canned pumpkin or apple sauce and quinoa… canned tuna or salmon with mashed sweet potato and orzo pasta… or stuff with frozen blueberries and pour bone broth on top (onion-free, of course!)… (and always sprinkle some parmesan on top before going in the freezer lol.) i have a rottie/chow and a pointer/jrt. the large fit about 3 oz of food by weight and will keep my pups busy for about 30 min. my lab mix loves this toy. this is the 2nd west paw product i’ve purchased and their quality is excellent. it is a good way to keep my mischief-making puppy occupied for 20 minutes.
