this collar has a range of 500 yards and the remote is quickly and easily operated without having to look at it. simply adjust the dial slightly and push the button. now i take it off the charger and test it on myself on the highest setting and it barely sends a charge at all. this is the second collar that has been pathetically weak and my dog still isnt trained. it was amazing at first and really helped with training, but now is super hard to reinforce negative behaviors because it doesn’t always shock. i’ve had a sport dog collar in the past that i absolutely loved, and so did my gsp. we had no problems with the collar, and were able to find the stimulation level that best suited him easily. and then, on the off chance the stimulation did work, it seemed that the level was wayyyy too high, and my dog vocalized because of it, something that’s never happened before because of proper introduction and training with the collars.
i will be updating this review after the new collar comes, and proves its not a dud! i had a similar model as before and liked it, this one will not vibrate at all, the beep from the collar is so quiet you can barley hear it, so when my dog is running in the woods we cannot hear the sound. after some time and training the dogs are completely trained without the need of the collar and respond to voice commands. i have purchased a couple of these collars in the past and had no problems. this item is not bad, does it’s job but i had the model above it and liked it a lot better. if i had to do it again i would buy the model above this one. alot of people think you cant have all three on the remote you can its mode 2 and i have had this collar before and it does an amazing job so i highly reccomend i wanted a correction collar that does all three stimuli: tone, vibrate, and electric (nick and constant). unfortunately, you cannot activate all three types of stimuli for the three buttons using a single program setting.
