our 9mo kitten would play with this all day if i let her. i have to place it in another room since the motor is a bit loud, but i can still hear when it times out. and i love that i can easily put it back in the box for storage. they play with it for hours and beg for me to turn it on throughout the day. the cats absolutely love this toy. but i think the cost of batteries is worth my cats having some fun and my family and i are constantly turning it on for them. don’t get me wrong, this toy is great for engagement and it’s what is keeping them busy while i’m working, but my cat knows when to just get rid of the fabric and chew on the feathered toy. bar none this is the favorite toy i have ever bought for my cat. since they can quickly catch the feathered toy it seems the manufacturers accounted for that and it turns itself off if the arm doesn’t move for awhile, i assume so the motor does not burn out. bought it for christmas & they play with it so much that i need to replace the wand & this company doesn’t offer just that piece.
