the wood top and sides are not well supported. overall, the item is cheaper in construction than i was expecting for what we paid. we wanted a furniture type crate for our doggie and this fit the bill perfectly. this is essentially a metal crate with wood trim. when the box arrived, i was overwhelmed in thinking, “how hard is this going to be to put together?” the pieces of the crate are nice however, when you assemble this unit, nothing stays together! it is assembled without hardware which would be fine if it stayed together! even moving it a little bit causes things to shift and pull apart. does rattle a bit so with a larger or restless dog if might be a problem. worth the money. the wood is beautiful–works as a piece of furniture easily. we wanted the length (40″ i think) for his bed and space for a pee pad if he needed it.
