kaytee wild bird food is an everyday favorite for both bird-watchers and wild birds. it’s been a mainstay in backyard feeders and is suggested for use in hopper, large-tube and covered fly-through feeders. this product is only intended for feeding wild birds. opened the bag and poured it into my storage container; could not believe the dust that flew out of the pour. also a large portion of the mix is cracked corn, neither the birds nor the squirrels will eat the corn. simply makes a mess on the ground which i have to rake and sweep up. thought the first bag may have been an anomaly. i’ve been feeding birds in my yard for well over a year and this was my first time using kaytee’s wild bird food. only downside is i have to replenish far more often, but that’s a problem i’m ok having. needless to say the birds wouldn’t eat it and it attracted mice to my feeder.
this bag of foods it powdery and dusty. the next day i wondered why the were not completely emptied and i realized the bottoms were basically just dust. not worth it.will go back to my usual brand at same price point. there has been more and more cheap and rancid pieces of peanuts, almonds, corn and sunflowers, which are not part of wild songbirds diet. no more for my birds!!! kaytee is always good and this buy is a great value!! never had a problem with my bird feeder clogging until i purchased and poured in this product. this seed is loved by the many birds that come to our yard and it is reasonably priced. i use this to fill up my two outside birdfeeders and they attract lots of sparrows and colorful finches. live in pnw that is surrounded by forest so my yard is visited by many native wildlife birds.
