buster cube dog toy

this treat ball is made from safe and durable thermoplastic rubber so any pup can enjoy the fun! cheaply made plastic and difficult to load . inside it just slide on the floor, i did read this in other reviews and figured it was okay because i’d be using it outside. (that may have been in a review and i missed it) we put a blanket out so there is some traction for it to roll, but then i need to occasionally put it back on the blanket. i’ve had these cubes in the past, and yes you do need to use it on a non-slippery surface. preferably with a handle that is tapered and a close fit) and it should open easily. we had to google a youtube video to open the cube, however we tried pliers & an allen wrench but still could not get it open. this tpr is a hard, smooth plastic, which also makes it a bit noisy–especially on a harder surface floor. the hard plastic is too slippery on our hardwood floors, so it there’s no purchase when our dog tries to flip it over for treats. we tried this toy out a few times and now it just lives in the closet.

i’m still able to get food inside and after shaking it i can get most of the food out. he isn’t big on most toys but the food cube gets him excited and is a must-do on a daily basis. he seems to experience it as hunting for kibble. yes, it is quite difficult to get open but i usually just fill it without opening, it’s easy enough to fill & twirl it a few times to fill up. i really want to leave a positive review, but this is our second cube and it’s pretty much unusable. i finally purchased this new one and like others i cannot get the cap open to refill it. my dog loves this cube and so do i since it tires him out on cold or rainy days. easy to fill and stays clean because dogs don’t lick on it! when it arrived i read the instructions that said to use your thumb to turn it to unlock. but i went to youtube and searched this cube and saw a lady showing how to open it with pliers. after that i was able to fill it and put it back together no prob.
