this durable chew is designed with a hint of real fish flavor that have your dog’s tail wagging with delight! so, i have 2 rescue german shepard mixes… i was in a store to pick up an online order but then though, they deserve a new chew….well, i’ve never seen a fish flavored chew and got one…one to see if one of the two would like it. i feel horrible….mainly because the store is out of what we now call fish crack and must order it online and wait…. he loves this thing and it is holding up well. i personally give it 2 stars because the thing smells rancid after they get going on it. it is heavy and thick so will take some time for our dogs to chew it. i thought it might smell fishy but i haven’t noticed it having a strong smell.
it is maybe even better than those because it has more “ends” to chew on, which seems to be where our dog focuses. i bought a bunch of different flavors and this one is by far my dog’s favorite, she goes nuts for it! i specifically purchased this chew toy because i have a serious chewer, however, it’s very hard and i did not appreciate reading the inside of the packaging where it says, “it’s durable nylon so it’s important that your pup has strong, healthy teeth”. i feel it is deceptive on the part of the manufacturer. it is more difficult for them to get too good of a hold on so it has lasted much longer and i think the flavor is a nice change of pace for them! i have one pup who has an underbite and she doesn’t have an easy time chewing on this shape although she has tried several times, possibly because it’s a bit more confined and thicker. the first two were mediums he chewed up so i thought the small would be great chewing on our bed.
