i decided to trial it for a couple of months. all in all, i can see how it would be useful for people who really analyse everything and rely on the data to tell them when and when not to ride or train. i don’t have a coach, but it seems like that’s where it really shines, as the coach can go in and put workouts in your calendar, review your performance, etc. i like the interface and it was intuitive to use. i don’t know how to use most of it, and it’s overkill for perpetual cat5 fatasses like me. i found that golden cheetah or even just strava (+ stravistix, it really is nice) is a more intuitive way to break down a ride and see what kind of power you did for an interval or segment, etc.
it’s also a very good way to look back on a season’s worth of work and correlate past performances with the training you were doing, etc. there are other ancillary benefits to using trainingpeaks, like the ability to have your planned workouts automatically sync to zwift or a wahoo head unit. i’m biased but i would recommend at least syncing all of your workouts to the free basic version since it can be done automatically from most devices and platforms. in combination with a plan i purchased it helps scheduling my workouts, visualizes my progress with the very useful ctl and atl. i guess if i hadn’t purchased a plan the atp feature would be useful as well. the workout builder and atp are enough of a reason for me to pay. planning and coloring workouts “green” is just something i find motivating.
is training peaks worth the (rather high) cost? the only downside is it takes a bit to get the hang of. the other more simpler option is https://thomaschampagne. github.io/stravistix/ it is a pretty good tool the training peaks free membership is great for people who don’t want to plan their future training, these people might have a coach to do the work for them or just not be interested in the additional premium data. they’ll be able to create an annual training plan for all your races or goals. glossary of training peaks terms: a detailed review on written by gallager himself on the training peaks site. tss is a term that belongs to training peaks, but you’ll find a very, Is Training Peaks any good site:www.reddit.com&prmd=nvsi, Is Training Peaks any good site:www.trainerroad.com&prmd=nvsi, trainingpeaks review dc rainmaker, trainingpeaks review dc rainmaker, training peaks review running.
